Back in May, the fine folks at Project Zero and Boston Hassle teamed up with FTAM to produce the SSM Performance Showcase at Deep Thoughts in Boston, MA. The show featured five different performers presenting brand new works, all of which were composed using the Systematic Scoring Method (developed by myself). This new scoring mechanism aims to help performing artists think about the performance as a system of interlocking parts (as opposed to, say, a linear collection of gestures) and then transcribe that system in a way that can be reproduced later on.
If you are interested in learning more about the scoring method, check out the Agency for Artists blog or you can by the Systematic Scoring Method zine in the store section (the zine includes the scores for all of the performances from the show.
